Tashkent cannot become a megapolis full of skyscrapers 

At a time when the number of people moving to the capital of Uzbekistan is increasing year by year, Tashkent cannot become a city surrounded by skyscrapers and huge buildings.  Saidazam Sharipov informed QALAMPIR.UZ about this at the press conference on the construction plan of Tashkent until 2045 held at the state unitary enterprise "TashkentBoshPlanLiti" this year.

It is known that many countries are forced to expand their cities as a result of people's need for urbanization (urbanization), and in such conditions, the countries of the world use two methods. The first of them is the vertical expansion, that is, the elevation of the city, due to the increase of tall, skyscraper buildings in the existing city.

Vertically developed cities include Shanghai (China), Tokyo (Japan), Singapore (Singapore), and Dubai (UAE).  But Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, cannot follow them.  This was explained by Saidazam Sharipov, one of the urbanists of "TashkentBoshPlanLiti" as follows:

"Vertical cities happen when there is a big demand in the area of that city.  For example, New York, and Los Angeles.  The most vertically developed cities are in Asia.  There is no requirement for the vertical development of our city of Tashkent.  In addition, the population is also an important factor," he said.

It is noted that due to these factors, experts want to expand the capital of Uzbekistan horizontally.  In horizontal expansion, the city territory expands at the expense of new, adjacent areas, and buildings and structures are built in those areas.  Examples of such urbanization include cities such as Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and Delhi (India).

But there is another reason why the capital is not surrounded by skyscrapers.  This is because it has many problems in the infrastructure of underground pipelines.

Small problems that accumulated over the years prevent the development of a large city.  If these problems are not adequately solved from now on, shortly the capital will become one of the unusable cities.
