Shopping areas will be returned to the Metro

Shopping areas will be reopened in the Tashkent metro.  This was reported by UzA.

It is noted that the activity of such shopping areas will be organized on the pedestrian crossings of the “Novza” metro station as an experiment.  Trade and service spaces in underground and surface metro stations are leased to entrepreneurs under the terms of an electronic auction.

This was determined in the President’s decision of 2 February 2022 “On additional measures to further develop the Tashkent city public transport system.”  It includes tasks such as comprehensive development of the public transport system, provision of high-quality and safe transport services to passengers.

According to information, nine new four-car subway trains were purchased and 23 four-car subway trains were overhauled in order to update the Tashkent metropolitan traffic structure.

It should be noted that by the end of the year, it is planned to increase the number of 5-car trains to 12 in the metro.
