As we previously mentioned, the Council of People's Deputies of Tashkent city expressed gratitude to the former mayor and chairman of the Council, who was released from his post on 16 January this year.  An appeal with warm thoughts about the work done by Jahangir Ortiqkhojayev was published on the Telegram channel of the Council, and it was deleted soon after.

The Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies issued a statement denying that it published an appeal to the former mayor of the capital Jahangir Ortiqkhojayev on its Telegram channel.

"Dear citizens of the city of Tashkent, according to the appeal of the People's Council of People's Deputies of Tashkent City, which was circulated on social networks, we inform you that on 16-17 January, no meeting of the Council of People's Deputies of Tashkent City was held.  So, on behalf of the Council's deputies of Tashkent City, we inform you that no statement has been made about the former mayor J. Ortiqkho'jayev", writes Tashpolat Matiboyev, deputy chairman of the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies.

Below is a screenshot of the appeal of the Council of People's Deputies:

It should be recalled that yesterday, on 16 January, at a meeting regarding the supply of energy resources held in the presence of the President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that he fired the former mayor of Tashkent Jahangir Ortiqkhojayev.  He informed us that Artikkhojayev had not adequately prepared for winter despite the warnings.

Bakhtiyor Rahmanov, who is working as his first deputy, was appointed to the post of acting mayor of Tashkent city instead of Ortiqkhojayev.
