Today, January 28, the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, ranked first among the world's major cities in terms of air pollution, according to the IQAir portal.

As of 14:23, the concentration of fine PM2.5 particulate matter in Tashkent's air measured 206 μg/m³—41.2 times higher than the World Health Organization's recommended air quality guideline. This makes the air in Tashkent hazardous for public health.

In such conditions, residents are strongly advised to limit outdoor activities unless absolutely necessary. Citizens with chronic respiratory conditions are encouraged to wear medical masks when going outside.

Upon returning indoors, it is important to thoroughly wash the face and hands, minimize dust accumulation in living spaces, tightly seal doors and windows, and clean surfaces with a damp cloth multiple times a day.

It is worth noting that yesterday, January 27, Tashkent ranked second among the world's major cities in terms of air pollution, underscoring a worsening trend in air quality in the capital.

To mitigate the effects of air pollution, it is crucial for residents to stay informed about air quality levels and take appropriate measures to protect their health. The government and relevant authorities are urged to address the growing environmental challenges to ensure the well-being of the population.
