Tashkent Region health official caught falsifying documents in medical supplies scam

In the Tashkent region, an official from the Health Department responsible for a special medical supply base has been arrested for attempting to sell medical supplies illegally. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to the report, the official arranged to sell medical supplies for a total of $57,880 by falsifying documents, and he received an advance payment of $40,000. He was caught in the act with material evidence.

A criminal case has been initiated against the individual under Article 167, Part 3, Clause “a” (misappropriation or embezzlement by waste or misappropriation) and Article 209, Part 1 (official fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and he is currently held in pre-trial detention.

It should be recalled that previously, officials of AT “Xalq banki” Qo‘qon Universal Bank Service Center and others were implicated in a scheme involving the misappropriation of budget funds using computer equipment as part of a coordinated group effort.
