The Temurids’ History State Museum was temporarily closed on February 25 due to reconstruction works, the Academy of Sciences reported.

“In order to carry out reconstruction, refurbishment, digitization, and the creation of a new exhibition at the Temurids’ History State Museum, the Academy of Sciences announces that visitor services will be temporarily suspended starting February 25, 2026,” the statement said.

According to the announcement, the reconstruction aims to modernize the museum’s infrastructure in line with contemporary standards, enrich its exhibitions, and create a more comfortable and interactive environment for visitors. The reopening date will be announced later through the museum’s official website and social media pages.

For reference, the Temurids’ History State Museum was opened on October 18, 1996, in honor of the 660th anniversary of the birth of Amir Temur. The museum’s collection includes more than 7,500 exhibits, compared to 700 at the time of its opening. Among them are manuscripts from the Timurid period, coins, ceramic and copper artifacts, weapons, and rare miniatures.
