Temur Kapadze, the coach who successfully led Uzbekistan's U-23 national team to the Paris 2024 Olympics, is set to take over as the head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team, according to sources from QALAMPIR.UZ.
Kapadze will replace Srechko Katanets, who recently resigned from the position due to health issues. The new coach is expected to fly to Doha, where he will oversee a training session in Qatar as part of his preparation for leading the team.
Kapadze’s accomplishments include guiding the Uzbekistan U-23 team to the 2024 Olympics and securing a silver medal at the Asian Cup with the same group of players.
It was previously reported that Srechko Katanets stepped down due to ongoing health problems, paving the way for Kapadze’s appointment.
