Uzbekistan approves list of free services for railway passengers

6323On December 18, the government issued a decree titled “On approval of the list of services regulated by the state and provided based on market principles in the railway transport sector.” The Ministry of Justice reported that the decree outlines the services to be provided to passengers on Uzbekistan's railway system.
The decree includes three key lists:
- List of services regulated by the state in the railway transport sector
- List of services provided based on market principles in the railway transport sector
- List of services provided free of charge to consumers in the railway transport sector
According to the decision, passengers will now have access to the following services free of charge:
- Use of strollers
- Access to mother and child rooms
- Free Wi-Fi in waiting rooms
- Wheelchairs for disabled passengers
- Complimentary tea, drinking water, and sugar during the journey
It should be noted that earlier, it was announced that certain groups of people, including single individuals, elderly people, and persons with disabilities requiring assistance, will be eligible for free railway or intercity bus tickets once a year.
