A student embezzled more than 75 million soms

A university student stole more than 75 million soms from the card of a resident of Surkhandarya.  This was reported by the Cyber Security Center.

It is noted that a citizen living in Termiz city of Surkhandarya region submitted an application and stated that an unknown person withdrew 75,700,000 soms from his bank card.  He also asked for legal action against an unknown person and help in returning the money.

During the quick investigation, it was determined that this crime was committed by a 4th-year student of the university born in 1997.

He called the victim and said that he was a bank employee and got the text message.  After that, he transferred all the available money to a bank card issued in the name of an unknown person and withdrew money through various ATMs.

“A criminal case has been opened against him under part 2 of Article 169 of the Criminal Code, and preliminary investigations are being carried out,” the report said.
