Botir Rahimov appointed head of the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan

On February 17, businessman Botir Rahimov was elected as the new chairman of the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan, according to a statement from the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
Rahimov, who has served as the president of the "Pakhtakor" football club for many years, was nominated for the position following the transfer of the former federation head, Alisher Mirsoatov, to the board of the Winter Sports Association. Rahimov’s candidacy was unanimously approved by the federation.
At the event, officials congratulated Rahimov on his appointment and outlined key responsibilities for his leadership, including preparations for the upcoming "Milan-Cortina 2026" Winter Olympics and the "Los Angeles 2028" Summer Olympics.
It’s also noteworthy that earlier, Akmalkhodja Mavlonov, chairman of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, was elected as the head of the Uzbekistan Athletics Federation. Additionally, Alisher Mirsoatov, the former head of the Tennis Federation, was appointed chairman of the Uzbekistan Winter Sports Association.
