11483Last year, it was reported that the principal of the 28th school in the Sariosiyo district of Surxondaryo region, T.U., was brutally beaten by the family members of a teacher working at the same institution.
The court has now sentenced the individual responsible for causing bodily harm. This information was provided by the press secretary of the Supreme Court, Aziz Obidov, to QALAMPIR.UZ.
According to the report, on August 31, 2023, at 17:00, the defendant, Y.M., went to the building of the 28th general education school located in the Do‘stlik neighborhood of Sariosiyo district. He entered the methodological study room where the school principal, T.U., was sitting and started an argument without any reason. During the altercation, he used a chair as a weapon, deliberately striking the principal's head and body multiple times, and causing bodily harm. He also struck the head of teacher I.Q., who tried to intervene and prevent the disorderly conduct, causing injury.
In court, Y.M. admitted his guilt and requested leniency. He explained that he had returned from Russia and planned to invite elderly residents of his neighborhood to his home for a feast on September 1, 2023. To prepare for this, he went to the farmer's market in Denov City at around 14:00 on August 31 to buy the necessary items. On his way back, he stopped by the school and became angry that fewer teaching hours were assigned to his wife. When he asked the principal why the hours were reduced, the teacher replied, "If you have a weapon in your hand, shoot it, if your wife works, fine, if not, she can leave, write a resignation letter, who let you into the school, get him out, shame on you." This led to the incident.
The court found Y.M. guilty of the crime specified in Article 277 (Hooliganism) part 3, clause “g” of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
It should be noted that earlier, two brothers in Surxondaryo were sentenced to 10 days in jail for insulting a traffic police officer.
