15642In the Surkhandarya and Tashkent regions, a total of 1,915 and 15,198 households were cut off from gas supply after a car accident involving a gas pipeline and construction negligence. This information was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
The incident occurred on September 24 at 21:40 in Surkhandarya when the driver of a Lacetti lost control and collided with a gas pipeline with a diameter of D-219 mm in the Darband neighborhood of Muzrabot district. As a result of the impact, gas began leaking from the pipeline, prompting a temporary suspension of natural gas supply to 1,915 households in the district.
A special brigade was dispatched to the scene, and the issues caused by the accident were resolved by September 25 at 18:11, allowing the gradual restoration of gas supply to consumers.
On September 25, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a separate incident occurred in the Tashkent region when an excavator driver, while conducting construction work in the "Bakht" section of the Piskent district, severely damaged a high-pressure D-325 mm underground gas network. This also led to a gas leak, resulting in a temporary halt of natural gas supply to 15,198 households and 320 wholesale consumers.
To address this issue, a special brigade was again involved, and the situation was resolved by 10:15 on September 26, with the process of restoring gas supply to consumers gradually beginning thereafter.
