President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has issued a final warning to government leaders, demanding immediate action on pressing problems or face dismissal. He delivered the message during a videoconference meeting held on June 16, focused on evaluating the progress of reforms, regional performance, and addressing public concerns.

The President strongly criticized delays in implementing reforms, blaming them on officials’ failure to maintain order and discipline.

One of the main issues raised was the prolonged disruption in the supply of liquefied gas. In some regions, supply has been interrupted for as long as 60–70 days, with 70 percent of public complaints in Andijan and Surkhandarya related to gas shortages.

“If there are so many problems with gas on hot days, what will people do in the winter when they need to heat their homes? This is a final warning to all responsible leaders: resolve this issue within two weeks—or make way for someone who will,” Mirziyoyev said.

He also addressed the upcoming summer heat and the expected spike in electricity demand. Although summer began relatively cool, rising temperatures will increase household consumption. Two months ago, the Energy Efficiency Agency was established, and 100 billion soums were allocated from the state budget to promote energy-saving measures.

The Ministry of Energy and the agency will now compile a list of ministry, regional administration, and state enterprise employees whose monthly electricity use exceeds 500 kilowatt hours. These individuals will be eligible for “green repair” loans or subsidies to switch to energy-efficient appliances and systems. Additional loans may be issued from the ministry’s extra-budgetary fund if needed.

The President emphasized that by the end of this year, at least 100,000 high-consumption households must transition to energy-efficient technologies.
