Shuhrat Polvanov, Deputy Chairman of the Oliy Sud of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has been elected as the Chairman of the High Qualification Board of Judges, according to a statement from the Supreme Council of Judges on February 2.
The Plenum of the Oliy Sud approved the composition of the High Qualification Panel of Judges, comprising nine Oliy Sud judges, by its decision.
The Supreme Qualification Board of Judges is chosen from among the Oliy Sud judges of Uzbekistan for a five-year term, including the chairman, deputy chairman, and members.
Qualification boards of judges aid the Supreme Council of Judges of Uzbekistan in carrying out its assigned tasks.
Shuhrat Togaymurodovich Polvanov, born on December 11, 1977, in the Pastdargom district of Samarkand region, has been elected as the Chairman of the High Qualification Board of Judges. He graduated from the Tashkent State Law Institute in 2002.
Polvanov served as a member of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan from the Nurabad constituency from 2015 to 2020.
It's noteworthy that in November 2022, Shuhrat Polvanov assumed the position of Deputy Chairman of the Oliy Sud of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Judicial Committee on Economic Affairs for a five-year term.
