Alisher Turaev, the former Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, his daughter Anais Turaeva, and Mansur Kuzibekov, the former accountant of the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, were sentenced by the Mirzo Ulugbek District Court for Criminal Cases on September 5 of this year. QALAMPIR.UZ obtained the court verdict.

According to the document, in September 2021, De Nova Agro, a company owned by Alisher Turaev's son, won a tender worth 9.95 billion soums for the supply of 1 million grape seedlings. Despite the court's findings that these seedlings were not delivered to the center, several fake electronic invoices were issued to show receipt of the product, and funds were transferred. Alisher Turaev partially confessed to his guilt.

The court found the former deputy minister guilty under Article 167, Part 3, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code (Embezzlement or looting on a large scale using a position of authority) and Article 209, Part 2, Clause "a" (Career falsification committed by a repeat or dangerous recidivist). He was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment and was deprived of the right to work in management, material, and official positions in a state organization for 2 years.

Mansur Kuzibekov was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison on similar charges. Anais Turaeva was sentenced to 5 years and 1 month in prison under Article 167, Part 3, Clause "a" and Article 28, Article 209, Part 2, Clause "a" (complicity in career falsification).
