A criminal case was initiated against the former governor of Muzrabot

A criminal case was initiated against the former mayor of the Muzrabot district of Surkhandarya region, Erkin Alimov.  This was reported by the Information Agency of Uzbekistan.

It is noted that a criminal case was initiated against Alimov, who was released from his post in September of this year, by the Department of the State Security Service for Surkhandarya Region under Articles 167, 205, and 209 of the Criminal Code.

During the initial investigation, it became known that he officially sold 4.2 hectares of land in this district with a total value of 1.7 billion soms to his close relatives without auctions.

Also, banks in the district have allocated preferential loans in the amount of 166 billion soms to the names of his close relatives for various purposes, most of which have turned into problematic loans.  At the moment, bank institutions are taking appropriate actions to collect 121 billion 406 million soms of unpaid loans.

In addition, during the inspection of the "Surkhondaryodon products" Joint Stock Company, it was found that 9.6 thousand tons of grain worth 35 billion soms were looted with the participation of Erkin Alimov. Alimov worked as the head of this Society from 2010-2017.

Currently, the investigation is continuing, and more than 20 officials of the Society have been involved in the criminal case and are testifying about the illegal actions of the former governor.
