English club Manchester City arranged a special plane for Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov to travel to Madrid for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round. The news was reported by the Telegram page Penalty.
Khusanov’s new Schengen visa was issued through Greece, which could have caused complications at the Spanish border. To prevent any issues, Manchester City organized a private flight following the Manchester-Athens-Madrid route, ensuring a smooth arrival for the player.
Due to this arrangement, Khusanov reached Madrid later than the rest of the team. Despite his late-night arrival, a large media presence gathered outside his hotel to welcome him.
For reference, the match between Real Madrid and Manchester City is set to kick off at 01:00 Tashkent time on the night of February 20. Uzbek football fans eagerly anticipate Khusanov’s potential appearance in this high-stakes encounter.
