A video has gone viral showing a shopkeeper in Guliston, Syrdarya region, slapping a boy who requested a receipt with a QR code. The Children's Ombudsman has provided an official update on the situation.

It was reported that on July 20, a woman contacted the Children's Ombudsman to report that her 13-year-old son (born in 2011) had purchased an item from a store in Guliston City and asked for a receipt with a QR code.

The video depicts the seller striking the boy on the left side of his face and throwing the receipt at him.

According to the Children's Ombudsman’s request, the internal affairs authorities are investigating the incident involving the child. Further details will be provided as they become available.

Additionally, it is worth noting that a school teacher in Samarkand, who had previously handcuffed a 13-year-old boy in a Damas car, was sentenced to four years in prison.
