Woman arrested in Syrdarya for selling citizen to Turkey for prostitution (video)

A resident of Fergana city, Fergana region, was apprehended while transporting a resident of Gulistan city, Syrdarya region, to Turkey for prostitution through Fergana International Airport. This was reported by the Syrdarya region Internal Affairs Department.

According to the victim, the woman, whom he met on Instagram, told him that she was going to Turkey to work as a nanny and assured him that she would cover the travel ticket and other expenses. The girl sent him a photo of her "foreign" passport via Telegram. They were arrested when they were about to depart for Turkey.

“I can’t even imagine what would have happened to me if I had gone there. I would like to thank the law enforcement agencies. They helped me a lot after we arrived at the airport. I tell my peers: if someone offers a job abroad, saying they will buy your tickets and cover all your expenses, please contact the internal affairs officers. I beg you not to become a victim of human trafficking tomorrow,” she says.

It is reported that a criminal case has been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.

It should be recalled that earlier, in the Dustlik district of the Jizzakh region, a 29-year-old man was detained while attempting to sell a 23-year-old woman to Russia. The Dustlik District Court found the man guilty under Article 135, Part 1 (Human Trafficking) of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to three years and six months of restriction of liberty.
