5993An individual attempting to send a woman from Yangiyer to Russia for prostitution was apprehended in the Syrdarya district of the Syrdarya region. The regional press service of the Department of Internal Affairs reported this information.
According to the report, during a swift operation, a person named Z., a resident of the Kashkadarya region, promised a resident of Yangiyer a job in the city of Domodedovo, Russian Federation, where she could earn substantial money through prostitution. Z. claimed that upon her arrival in Russia, an acquaintance named D. would meet her and handle the documentation at his own expense. Z. and his accomplice were taking the woman to Tashkent International Airport when they were arrested at a road patrol station in the Syrdarya district.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 135 (Human Trafficking) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigations are currently ongoing.
We remind readers that earlier in the Samarkand region, two women were sentenced to 5 years in prison for trafficking girls to Oman for prostitution.
