14-year-old boy drowns in canal in Syrdarya

On May 18, a 14-year-old boy tragically drowned in a canal located in the Mirzaabad district of the Syrdarya region. This was reported by the regional Emergency Situations Department.
According to the report, A.Kh., a minor born in 2011, entered the Friendship Canal, which flows through the "Oydin" municipal district, to swim and drowned due to carelessness.
Divers from the regional branch of the Emergency Situations Department carried out search and rescue operations and recovered the boy’s body from the canal on May 19.
The Mirzaabad district prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the incident.
It is worth noting that on May 5, two girls fell into the Burijar Canal in Tashkent, and a 43-year-old man who attempted to rescue them drowned.
