A new flower variety in Singapore was named “Shavkat Mirziyoyev's orchid” (photo report)

Today, January 17, within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Singapore, high-level events - negotiations with the President of this country Halima Yaqub and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong were held.  This was reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Before the Uzbekistan-Singapore summit, an official welcoming ceremony for Shavkat Mirziyoyev was held at the "Istana" palace of the President of Singapore.

A guard of honor lined up in honor of the high-ranking guest on the square in front of the palace. The military orchestra played the national anthems of the two countries.

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Singapore Halima Yaqub passed in front of the guard of honor and greeted the members of the official delegations.

After that, in honor of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a naming ceremony was held for a new variety of orchid flower, which is the national symbol of Singapore. Such events are traditionally held as a sign of high respect and honor for high-ranking guests and famous personalities of this country.

According to tradition, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev placed a plaque next to the flower with the name of a new type of orchid - "Shavkat Mirziyoyev orchid".
