It was previously reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz would visit Uzbekistan. He is set to participate in the C5+1 summit, which will be held in Kazakhstan on September 15, and will also visit Uzbekistan as part of this trip. This was announced by the spokesperson of the German government, Steffen Hebestreit, during a briefing in Berlin.

"On Sunday, September 15, Chancellor Scholz will visit Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. He will remain there until September 17. This marks the chancellor's first trip to Central Asia," Hebestreit stated.

He added that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are key and close partners for Germany due to their strategic location between Russia and China, as well as Germany's desire to deepen cooperation with these countries in the fields of science, economy, energy, and raw materials.

"In Kazakhstan, the chancellor will participate in the C5+1 summit with the Central Asian countries," Hebestreit said.

According to him, the Chancellor of Germany believes it is time to unite efforts to expand and develop cooperation with the countries of this region. A decision on strategic regional cooperation was made at the first C5+1 meeting held in Berlin in the fall of 2023. He also mentioned that the chancellor will be accompanied by a delegation of business leaders.
