4119In the past three years, between 2019-2022, more than 285 cases of various forms of aggression against medical workers were committed in Uzbekistan. This was discussed today, 22 November at a meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
Deputies considered the draft law "On amendments and additions to certain legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the establishment of liability for obstructing the activity of a medical worker."

The law "On Citizen Health Care" is supplemented by a new article, which includes changes and additions aimed at clarifying the concepts of "medical activity", "medical service" and "medical assistance".
Article 197-7 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility stipulates the determination of liability in cases of obstruction of the legal medical activity of a medical worker, the relevance of this case, and the terms of its consideration.
Obstructing the legal medical activity of a medical worker or unlawfully influencing a medical worker in various forms for this purpose shall be punishable by a fine of five to seven times the amount of the base calculation for citizens, and from seven to ten times for officials, or ten times Administrative imprisonment of up to five days is prescribed.
According to the deputies, the adoption of the draft law will serve to protect the rights of medical workers and prevent various interferences in their professional activities, and increase the status and prestige of the medical profession.
