Uzbekistan rejects outside interference in internal affairs - Sherzodkhan Qudratkhuja

Sherzodkhon Tojiddukhan Oghli Qudratkhoja, the rector of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, has been awarded the honorary title of “honored journalist of the Republic of Uzbekistan". This was announced in the decree signed today, August 25, by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, “on awarding a group of civil servants and employees in production and socio-economic sectors on the occasion of the thirty-fourth anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

Sherzodkhon Qudratkhoja was born on May 26, 1974, in Tashkent. He studied at Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan) from 1991 to 1996.

From 1996 to 1998, he worked at the “Uzbekistan” Television and Radio Company as editor and political commentator in the “Information” Directorate. From 1998 to 1999, he served as Director of the International Broadcasts Directorate at the same company. Between 1999 and 2000, he headed the Press Center and Service of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From 2000 to 2005, he was the chief consultant of the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Between 2005 and 2008, he served as the press secretary of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan. From 2008 to 2018, he held various positions at the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek. From 2017 to 2022, he was Chairman of the non-governmental, non-profit organization “International Press Club".

He currently serves as the rector of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, Vice President of the International Wrestling Association, chairman of the Board of the National Media Association of Uzbekistan, and chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Sherzodkhon Qudratkhoja has been awarded the national “Golden Pen” prize, the “Mehnat Shuhrati” Order, the “Mehr-Sakhovat” breastplate, and the honorary title of “honored journalist of the Republic of Karakalpakstan".
