Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates war veterans

On 9 May, president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Victory Park.

The military orchestra performed the «Song of Memory».  The Head of State laid a wreath at the memorial complex of “The Anthem of perseverance”.

The complex is dedicated to the memory of Zulfiya aya (grandmother) Zokirova, who lost five sons in the World War II, her loyal daughters-in-law and orphaned grandchildren.  It is located in the center of the park as a symbol of the losses of the Uzbek people in the war and the struggle for peace. In this sense, “The Anthem of perseverance” is a monument to all mothers and women who lost their children in the war.

The park also gathered representatives of ministries and departments, state and public organizations of the Armed Forces.  In a conversation with them, the president congratulated the people of Uzbekistan.

“Today, standing in this Victory Park, I sincerely congratulate our esteemed veterans and all our people on this great holiday.  At such moments, we remember our heroic ancestors and bow to their courage.  Their multifaceted life path dedicated to peace and freedom is a great legacy for future generations, which will not burn and will not drown», – Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The Head of State noted that this place is a reminder of the consequences of war and the value of peace.

“Today, the world is becoming more dangerous.  Every minute is fraught with hardship.  Will it affect us? It will definitely be of influence.  But we are taking steps to reduce the impact on the lives of our people.  With hard work and solidarity, God willing, we will pass these life exams," - the president said.

The representatives of ministries, departments, and the public also laid flowers at the foot of the complex.
