Shavkat Mirziyoyev meets with Azerbaijani Prime Minister

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, who arrived in the country to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum. The presidential press service reported this.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of Azerbaijan’s PASHA Holding, Neqsol Holding and AzerGold companies, as well as the International Bank of Azerbaijan.

At the beginning of the conversation, Ali Asadov conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the Head of State.

The Uzbek leader, in turn, congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the recently celebrated holiday, National Salvation Day.

The parties considered current issues related to further expanding and strengthening Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan relations of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance.

Active contacts at all levels were noted with satisfaction. Since the beginning of this year, trade turnover has increased by 40%. Cooperation projects are being successfully implemented in construction, energy, mining, geology, logistics, tourism and other sectors.

The importance of carefully preparing the economic agenda of the upcoming high-level summit by the governments of the two countries was emphasized. It was noted that it is necessary to ensure the effective holding of the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission and the Forum of Regions.

Earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with a delegation of leading U.S. companies ahead of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
