Shavkat Mirziyoyev addresses parents

Parents must be more attentive and responsible than ever in raising their children in today’s extremely delicate and rapidly changing environment. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about this today, June 30, during a meeting with young people.

It was noted that crimes related to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances pose a serious threat to the nation’s gene pool. The fact that one-third of such crimes are committed by young people is particularly alarming.

Therefore, the fight against drug addiction and drug-related crimes in Uzbekistan is being turned into a nationwide movement, with all forces and resources being mobilized.

A law was recently adopted to sharply toughen liability for these crimes.

“We will never allow this evil to take root among our young people. We will not stop until we eradicate it completely.

Drug addiction deprives a person of their most valuable assets — health, reason, willpower, dreams and goals.

Remember! Life is given to a person only once. Be uncompromising toward such evils and devote every minute of your life to good deeds,” the President said, addressing young people.

The head of state also addressed parents, emphasizing that children grow and mature in the family, and that the solid foundation for their bright future is created first and foremost by parents. He called on them to be more attentive than ever and take greater responsibility in raising their children in today’s extremely delicate and rapidly changing environment.
