President Mirziyoyev awards President of the Olympic Council of Asia (video)

On January 26, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the 46th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia. During the event, he presented the National Olympic Committee’s Order of Honor to Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, who was elected President of the Olympic Council of Asia.

The Olympic Council of Asia was established in 1982 and coordinates the Olympic movement across the Asian continent. It currently brings together the national Olympic committees of 45 countries. Within the framework of the General Assembly, the main directions of the Asian Olympic movement were outlined, and Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, was elected to the position of President of the Olympic Council of Asia.

The events were attended by leaders and representatives of the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), international sports federations, and other influential sports organizations.
