President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Mahtumkuli State University of Turkmenistan as part of his official visit to Turkmenistan. Young people and art masters solemnly welcomed President Mirziyoyev.
The ceremony of awarding Shavkat Mirziyoyev the title of Honorary Professor of this university was held here. Rector of the University Bayramgul Orazdurdiyeva and President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Allaberdi Ashirov solemnly presented Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the robe of Honorary Professor and the certificate of the corresponding title.
In his address to the participants of the meeting, the President expressed sincere gratitude for this title.
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized that since time immemorial, education has been a force that determines the development of states and peoples and increases their power.
"The future of any society directly depends on how well-educated and well-rounded today's young generation will be. It is for this reason that fundamental reforms are being implemented in the education system in Uzbekistan, as in Turkmenistan.
Our goal is to bring up young people of New Uzbekistan as well-rounded, creative thinkers, ready to take responsibility for the fate of the Motherland," says Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In his speech, the head of state touched upon the issues of international politics and pointed out the need to unite the efforts of the countries of the region to respond in time to new dangers and threats.
"The only way out of the situation is a constructive dialogue based on taking into account and respecting the interests of every country and every nation," says the President.
It was noted that Uzbekistan is effectively cooperating with Turkmenistan on current issues of international importance, actively supporting each other within the framework of the UN and other organizations.
At the end of his speech, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the State University of Turkmenistan named after Mahtumkuli will continue the glorious tradition of training highly qualified personnel, and its graduates will honorably serve the noble goal of further development of Turkmenistan.
The State University of Turkmenistan is the first and largest university in the country. It was founded based on the Ashgabat Pedagogical Institute, which was opened in 1931.
The President of Uzbekistan also viewed the exhibition on university life.
More than 7,000 students study in 12 faculties of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, history, Turkmen and foreign languages, information technology, and law.
