Shamsiddin Tojiev, who had been serving as a judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has been relieved of his duties due to his transfer to another position. The announcement was made today, April 30, during a plenary session of the Senate.
Tojiev was elected to the position of Supreme Court judge in October 2019 for a 10-year term.
Born in 1979 in the Kashkadarya region, Shamsiddin Tojiev is of Uzbek nationality. He holds a higher education degree in law. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Tashkent State Law Institute in 2001 and earned his master's degree from the same institution in 2003. He began his professional career as an advisor to the Supreme Court and later held various posts within the same institution.
From 2008 to 2013, Tojiev served as a judge of the Sergeli District Court for Criminal Cases. Between 2013 and 2015, he was a judge of the Tashkent City Court for Criminal Cases. From 2015 until his appointment to the Supreme Court, he served as the chairman of the Uchtepa District Court.
At present, it has not been disclosed which position Shamsiddin Tojiev will take following his departure from the Supreme Court.
