The Senate approved the conduct of the referendum on April 30

Today, on March 14, the thirty-eighth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent. Senators considered and unanimously approved the issue of holding a referendum on the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

On March 10 of the current year, a meeting of the Legislative Chamber was held, where a decision was made to appoint and hold a referendum on the draft Constitutional law. In order to determine its compliance with the Constitution, it was decided to send it to the Constitutional Court and receive its opinion.

The Constitutional Court held its meeting on March 13 this year, studied the above decision, and found it to be in accordance with the Constitution. In accordance with the Law "On the Referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan", the draft Constitutional Law was considered in the Senate.

As a result of the discussions, senators made a decision "On conducting a referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan" on the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. According to it, it was determined that the referendum would be held on 30 April.
