Sariosiyo district mayor dismissed from office

Today, November 1, the mayor of Sariosiyo district, Abduqodir Donayev, was dismissed from his position and replaced by a new leader, according to the press service of the Surkhandarya regional administration.

An extraordinary session of the Sariosiyo District Council of People’s Deputies was held with the participation of regional mayor Ulugbek Qosimov. During the session, organizational matters were discussed. It was announced that Abduqodir Donayev was relieved of his duties due to his transfer to another position. The regional governor proposed Odiljon Almahamadovich Yoqubov as the new mayor of the district, and his candidacy was approved by the deputies.

Before his appointment, Odiljon Yoqubov served as the head of the Surkhandarya Regional Department for Poverty Reduction and Employment.

For reference, Yoqubov was born in 1983 in the Altinsay district. In 2005, he graduated from Tashkent State University of Economics, specializing in taxation. Throughout his career, he has held various positions in tax authorities, including head of the Tax Inspectorate in Denov and Termiz districts, as well as the first deputy mayor of a district.

As a reminder, new mayors were also recently appointed for the Karmana district of Navoi region and the city of Khanabad in Andijan region. Likewise, the mayor of Ohangaron city was dismissed and replaced by a new leader.

In addition, Sherbek Buronov, who had been serving as mayor of Narpay district, was dismissed and replaced by a new appointee. The mayor of Forish district in Jizzakh region, Ikrom Matiev, was also removed from his position and succeeded by a new leader. Furthermore, the mayor of Navbahor district, Azamat Urokov, was dismissed and replaced by a newly appointed official.
