Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee warns of fake SES employees

The Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee has urged the public not to fall victim to fraudsters posing as employees of the "SES" and collecting money for disinfection. Residents are advised to demand a special license from anyone claiming to be from the SES. This warning was issued by the committee's press service.  

Disinfection is a process aimed at neutralizing pathogens of infectious diseases in the environment. It is a collective term that includes disinfection, disinsection, and deratization.  

According to the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee of the Tashkent City Administration, disinfection activities are carried out in infectious disease hotspots as per epidemiological guidelines. However, numerous complaints have been received from Tashkent residents about individuals impersonating SES employees who insist on mandatory disinfection of homes, businesses, cafes, clinics, and beauty salons, and then demand payment.  

The committee clarified that genuine employees from the Tashkent city administration and district departments do not go door-to-door or visit businesses for disinfection or to sell medicines. Such services are provided strictly on a contractual basis and only upon voluntary request from residents.  

“In addition to informing the above, we would like to appeal to the residents of Tashkent to be aware of persons who come to your work and home introducing themselves as 'SES' employees (fake SES employees) and request their service certificates, and if they are employees of a private enterprise engaged in disinfection activities, request enterprise documents and a special license to engage in disinfection activities, and only then can you voluntarily carry out disinfection activities after providing documents confirming that the disinfectant used for disinfection has passed state registration in the prescribed manner. If you observe cases of fraudulent extortion by the above individuals, you can contact the territorial inspector or call 102,” the message said.
