Social media circulated a report alleging physical harassment of a student from School 78 in the Payariq district of Samarkand. The incident prompted a response from the Children's Ombudsman.

On April 19, 2024, it was discovered that a seventh-grade student, U.A. (girl), born in 2009, had a bruise on her hand. Her classmates noticed it, and the English teacher, Sh.Sh., was informed. However, the teacher failed to properly report the violence, and no action was taken.

Currently, the Payariq district police department is investigating the matter. Additionally, the district prosecutor's office, the school psychologist, and staff from the "Inson" social protection center are conducting a comprehensive inquiry.

The ombudsman assured that further updates on this issue will follow soon.

It's worth mentioning a previous incident in Jizzakh, where a man enraged his wife, who works in Korea, by allegedly stabbing their child during a video call.
