Stone crushing plant in Samarkand steals 5.3 billion sums worth of electricity

A limited liability company (LLC) in the Samarkand region has been found to have illegally used 5.3 billion sums worth of electricity. This was reported by the Inspectorate for Control over the Use of Electricity, Oil Products, and Gas.
According to the report, an inspection carried out by the Samarkand Regional Territorial Department of "Uzenergoinspeksiya" revealed that the stone crushing plant owned by "N.M.T." LLC, located in the Narpay district, had unlawfully consumed electricity by illegally replacing a transformer.
As a result of this unauthorized activity, the power supply company incurred losses estimated at 5 billion 319 million sums.
Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting a preliminary investigation into the matter.
It should be recalled that earlier, a similar case was reported in the Jizzakh region, where the head of a farm in the Sharof Rashidov district was found to have stolen electricity worth 4 billion 739 million sums.
