Chairman of Samarkand district court dies in car accident (video)

On June 17, Timur Rustamov, Chairman of the Urgut District Court for Civil Affairs in the Samarkand region, tragically died in a road accident. The incident was confirmed by the press service of the Supreme Council of Judges.
According to reports, the accident occurred at approximately 20:30 on the 61st kilometer of the 4R-47 highway, near the “Boghishamol” mahalla in Urgut district. A Kamaz-53212 truck collided with a Nexia 3 passenger car in which Rustamov was traveling.
The judge, born in 1986, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Violation of the rules for the movement or use of vehicles), and the Urgut District Prosecutor’s Office is carrying out a preliminary investigation.
It should be noted that a similar incident occurred earlier in the Yangiyul district of the Tashkent region, where a truck hit a 9-year-old boy riding a bicycle. The child was hospitalized with various injuries, and local authorities have launched an investigation into that case as well.
