A criminal case has been opened against a man who drove his car into people following a football match in the Nurabad district of Samarkand region. This was confirmed by the Road Safety Service.

The incident took place at the football stadium of School No. 35. According to reports, the suspect—an employee responsible for economic affairs at the same school—drove his vehicle into a group of individuals after becoming angry over the outcome of a football match.

The Nurabad district Internal Affairs Department has launched a criminal investigation under Part 2 of Article 277 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code. The case is currently under investigation.

It is worth recalling that a similar incident occurred earlier in the Saykhunabad district of Syrdarya region, where a Captiva driver ran into people after a disagreement during a football match. Although the victims later stated they had no claims against the defendant, he was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison for endangering lives and fleeing the scene.
