Neighboring house collapsed during pit excavation in Samarkand

Earlier, a video showing the collapse of a neighboring house during trench digging in Juma, Pastdargom district, Samarkand region, was shared on social media. The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy responded to this incident.

It was reported that the trench was being dug at a non-residential site on Samarkand Street in the "Samarqand" neighborhood of Juma City, and the neighboring house was damaged due to improper excavation methods.

"We will provide additional information about this situation after our investigation," the Ministry's statement said.

An employee from the district's Emergency Situations Department also investigated the incident. It was found that construction rules were not followed by citizen B.I. during the construction of a shopping complex in the "Samarkand" neighborhood. Fortunately, no one was injured in the house collapse, the report noted.

As a reminder, a similar incident occurred earlier when a concrete block from an unfinished building in Tashkent collapsed.
