In connection with the first summit of the Organization of Turkic States, the Uzbek government increased security measures in Samarkand, and today, 10 November, the result of such a step is already visible at the railway station of the ancient city, which was unusually crowded.  TASS wrote about it.

"Access to the city, including by rail, is severely limited, our station will receive only transit passenger trains for several days, which will mainly bring the participants and guests of the summit, as well as representatives of mass media to Samarkand," said the station attendant to TASS.

In addition, some streets of the city have limited traffic, which is also noticeable in the streets near the station, where there are mainly government vehicles and buses with special numbers for the event.

"Since 9 November, armored vehicles, internal affairs bodies, and reinforced detachments of the National Guard have been deployed at most intersections.  A few days before the event, all passenger and charter flights arriving in Samarkand were cancelled, and the entry of non-resident motor vehicles was severely restricted.  Some areas are completely closed to traffic," writes TASS.

We remind you that on 10-11 November, a meeting of the leaders of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Samarkand.

At the event chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Chairman of the People's Consultation of the National Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Republic of Turkey Rajab Tayyip Erdogan, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov and the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban will participate.
