Student died in school zone accident in Samarkand

5477On November 14, a tragic accident occurred near a school in the Samarkand region, where a passenger bus struck and killed a minor pedestrian. The incident was reported by the regional Road Safety Department of Internal Affairs.
The accident took place around 8:00 a.m. when the bus driver, identified as F.S., was operating an Isuzu public transport vehicle. The young pedestrian was crossing the road near a general education school when the bus hit them.
Sadly, the child succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
A criminal case has been filed against F.S. under Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, concerning the violation of vehicle movement safety rules. The driver has been detained under Article 221, and a preliminary investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Earlier, another traffic incident occurred in Tashkent involving a Spark and a Captiva. The collision caused the Spark to overturn, resulting in injuries to its driver, who was subsequently hospitalized. The Tashkent DIA Road Safety Department is conducting further inquiries into this incident.
