On September 4th, at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris, the exhibition "Abu Rayhan Beruni: Geographical and Intellectual Journeys" was inaugurated. Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, also participated in the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. She announced this on her social media page.

Saida Mirziyoyeva stated that Uzbekistan is prepared to host the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand in 2025. "If this proposal is approved, this historic event could change the more than 40-year tradition of holding UNESCO sessions exclusively in Paris," Mirziyoyeva said.

Speaking about the exhibition in Paris, she noted that this project, dedicated to the 1050th anniversary of Beruni's birth, allows visitors to gather information about the life and work, discoveries, and research of the scholar through visual installations. The exhibition also features a special section dedicated to manuscripts of the scholar collected from the collection of the National Library of France.

"I believe this project will generate significant interest among the European public and enrich their understanding of Uzbekistan, which takes pride in the heritage of our great scholars," said Mirziyoyeva.

We would like to remind you that at the end of August, the President of Uzbekistan issued a decision to support the establishment of the UNESCO-Uzbekistan International Award named after Abu Rayhan Beruni. An agreement was reached for the installation of a statue of the great thinker and encyclopedist, Abu Rayhan Beruni, in New Delhi, the capital of India."
