On April 6, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, met with US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Ambassador Sergio Gor at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

According to Mirziyoyeva, talks between the two countries are planned to take place in Washington in the coming days.

“I was pleased to meet with US President’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Ambassador Sergio Gor, at Mar-a-Lago. I sincerely thank him for the warm welcome and hospitality. I highly value our meaningful and constructive dialogue and hope that productive meetings will be held in Washington in the coming days,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the United States on November 6–7, 2025. During the visit, the Uzbek leader held talks with US President Donald Trump and took part in the C5+1 summit involving the leaders of the Central Asian states and the United States. Following that visit, the US-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council was established. On the Uzbek side, the council is overseen by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, while on the US side it is headed by Sergio Gor, the US President’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia.

Komil Allamjonov, the former deputy head of the Presidential Administration, was also appointed as counselor-envoy at Uzbekistan’s embassy in the United States and as the Presidential Administration’s representative in the country.

For reference, Saida Mirziyoyeva last met with Sergio Gor on February 7. During that meeting, among other issues, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen commercial diplomacy between the two countries.
