We reported that Asrol Boykorayev, the governor of the Koson district of the Kashkadarya region, forced farmers who were fasting to drink water at a meeting called by him.  These actions by the mayor provoked sharp criticism from internet users.  After that, the Council of Farmers, farmers themselves, and Homestead Land Owners of Uzbekistan appealed to the General Prosecutor's Office.

According to reports, Deputy Chairman of the Council Zafar Mustafakulov has sent a letter of appeal to the General Prosecutor's Office.  It first mentions Article 31 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Article 4 of the law "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations".

"The above actions of the governor of Koson district during the political processes in which preparations are being made to hold a referendum on additions and amendments to the Constitution in our country are causing widespread objections of citizens through social networks," the letter of appeal says.

Also, taking into account the above, practical assistance was requested in the consideration of the issue of the use of the document of the prosecutor's control over the actions of the governor.
