Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov resigns

6842Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov has officially resigned. This was announced by Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
According to the minister, a meeting with Ambassador Malginov was held on June 12 at the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The main focus of the meeting was the ongoing development of the Uzbek-Russian alliance and strategic partnership.
“We once again confirmed our intention to deepen bilateral ties and support joint initiatives that serve the interests of both countries. We wish the Ambassador success in his future endeavors,” Saidov stated.
It should be recalled that on May 2 of this year, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Bobur Usmonov held a meeting with Ambassador Malginov. During the talks, the Uzbek side raised concerns over the increasing number of reports regarding violations of the rights of Uzbek labor migrants and incidents of mistreatment in the Russian Federation.
