Uzbekistan sets record for most expensive car license plate

On June 13, a new record was set in Uzbekistan for the most expensive car license plate. The license plate number 10 777 ZZZ was sold at auction for 1 billion 638 million soums. The sale took place online via the portal avtoraqam.uzex.uz.
The plate was first listed for sale on June 5, with a starting price of 187 million 500 thousand soums.
It was purchased by a resident of the Tashkent region, who paid the final price of 1 billion 638 million soums.
For reference, a previous record was set in Tashkent when the license plate 01 888 BBB, designated for legal entities, was sold for 1 billion 14 million soums.
