“The Referendum Reveals Heightened Political Consciousness Among Our People,” Says Mirziyoyev

The Presidential Press service has reported that a meeting on the results of the referendum was held, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with members of parliament, political parties and public representatives.

In his opening remarks, the head of state addressed the outcomes of the constitutional referendum.  He stated, "As you are aware, a truly significant historical event took place in our country on 30th of April this year.  For the first time, our updated constitution was adopted through a national referendum.  The overwhelming majority of our citizens who participated in the referendum proudly voted, "This is my Constitution." The President emphasized how the referendum demonstrated the improvement in political consciousness, legal culture, and outlook of the people over the recent years.  He further highlighted that this historic election reaffirmed the strong support for the reforms initiated six years ago, showcasing the determination and confidence of the people.  The President expressed that this resolute decision has laid a solid foundation for the future stable development of our statehood and economy.
