Official Tashkent confirms Mirziyoyev's visit to Turkiye

The Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan has confirmed that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev would participate in the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in Ankara, the capital of Turkiye, on March 16. For this purpose, the President will leave for Turkey tomorrow, March 15. Earlier, QALAMPIR.UZ had reported on this based on its sources.

"Tomorrow, on March 16, an extraordinary summit of the heads of the Organization of Turkic States on the topic of "Disaster and emergency management and humanitarian assistance" will be held in Ankara. The Republic of Uzbekistan is expected to participate in the summit.

The summit will serve as a high-level platform to discuss the emergency caused by the recent earthquake in Turkiye. On it, state leaders will exchange views on the prospects of cooperation on the management of natural disasters and emergency situations and the provision of humanitarian assistance within the framework of the OTS," the report said.

It is also planned to hold bilateral meetings within the framework of the summit.

The Presidents of the member states of the organization will gather around the informal dinner table on the evening of March 15.
A large delegation from Uzbekistan is also expected to participate in the summit. Among them there is the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.

Heads of state/government of OTS member and observer countries and OTS Secretary-General will participate in the summit hosted by the President of Turkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the presidential residence.
