It's official! Uzbekistan will host the Chess Olympiad 2026.

In 2026, Uzbekistan will host the World Chess Olympiad.  This was announced by the chairman of the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan Alisher Sadullayev.

The 45th World Chess Olympiad is being held in Chennai, India.  On 8 August, the following FIDE congress was held in Chennai.  The delegates approved Uzbekistan’s candidacy for the host of 2026 Olympics.

For reference, on the eve of 10th round of the Olympiad -2022, the men’s team of Uzbekistan is leading the contest.  On 8 August, Uzbek chess players will play against India-2 team.
