48514The former Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan was released on 2 January of this year following a court decision. This was confirmed by the source of QALAMPIR.UZ.
According to information, on 29 December, a court session was held in the Zangiota district court of Tashkent region regarding Rashid Kadyrov’s case. According to the court’s verdict, Rashid Kadyrov was released under Article 73 of the Criminal Code (Parole prior to serving the sentence).
He was kept in Zangiota District Penitentiary No. 22 until today.
On 26 June 2019, in the building of the Yunusabad district court of the Tashkent city court on criminal cases, the verdict of indictment in the criminal case against the former Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rashid Kadirov and others (13 persons in total) was announced.
According to the judgment of the court, Rashid Kadirov, who worked as the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2000-2015, M. Mirzaev, J. Fayziev, U. Sunnatov, R. Pulatov, A. Mushaykhov, U. Khurramov, Yu. Gaipov, A. Mirzaev, M. Mirzaeva, citizens S. Kosimov, A. Ikramov and Kh. Collusion with Akhmedzhanov and accepting bribes as a group (paragraph “a” of Article 210, part 3 of the Criminal Code), witnessing bribery (paragraph “a” of Article 28,211, part 3 of the Criminal Code), fraud (Clause 168- item “a” of part 3 of the article), evading the payment of taxes or other mandatory payments (part 3 of article 184 of the Criminal Code), interference in the investigation and resolution of court cases (part 2 of article 236 of the Criminal Code), income from criminal activities legalization (Article 243 of the Civil Code), was found guilty of committing a number of serious and extremely serious crimes against the functioning of the authorities, management and public association bodies.
During the closed court investigation, which lasted for almost six months and was conducted in accordance with Article 19 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Criminal Procedure Code), as well as the law “On State Secrets”, the statements of all defendants were carefully examined one by one, about two hundred witnesses testimonies were heard, and the conclusions of the expertise and service investigations conducted on the case, as well as the evidence collected in the criminal case, were examined from the point of view of their legality and validity.
Rashid Kadyrov was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of 500 times the minimum monthly salary in accordance with Article 50, Part 6 of the Criminal Code.
In addition, the court decided to submit a motion to deprive Rashid Kadyrov of special titles and state awards, who was convicted of serious and extremely serious crimes (Article 52 of the Criminal Code).
When Rashid Kadyrov was accused of crimes and arrested, his son Alisher Kadyrov (entrepreneur) was accused of fraud in 2018 and wanted. Her husband, Nadir Torakulov, was the head of the National Security Service of Surkhandarya region. In 2018, he was convicted of bribery and imprisoned for 16 years.
